Gateway Capital Management was founded in 2019 by Josh Bliss, a resident of the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area for over 18 years. A proud supporter of local education, Josh earned his B.S. from the University of Arizona and later completed his Master’s degree at San Diego State University.

Josh started his career as a Financial Advisor at a top estate planning firm in California, later moving on to manage a team of 14 financial advisors across the state before heading back to his roots in Scottsdale, Arizona. Here, Josh continued to broaden his financial expertise, serving at top firms like Merrill Lynch and later at Wells Fargo Advisors, where he successfully managed over $100 million in client assets.

In 2019, after building more than two decades of experience in wealth management and financial services, Josh founded Gateway Capital Management. Driven by a passion to offer clients more personalized and transparent service, Josh’s vision was to create a boutique advisory firm focused on tailor-made portfolio management, lower fees, and a high-touch client experience. Following its success, Gateway Capital Management joined Balboa Wealth Partners in 2024, better aligning the firm with a fiduciary RIA structure that reflects Josh’s commitment to acting in his clients’ best interests.

When he’s not managing client portfolios, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, Katherine, and their two college-bound daughters, as well as their beloved dogs. As an avid mountaineer, Josh combines his love for strategy and risk assessment, applying it to his personal life. Among his greatest life achievements, he has summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Mount Rainier in Washington, and completed the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike. Josh is committed to his community and believes deeply in giving back to those in need. Josh is an active supporter of the Men’s Group at St. Patrick’s Church in Scottsdale, where he and Gateway Capital Management are involved in local service projects in partnership with organizations like Adopt-A-Family and St. Vincent de Paul.
